He was born in Marshalltown April 11, 1910, the son of Ellis and Fannie White Baily.
He received his education in the city schools, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1929. He was employed by Fisher Controls until retiring in 1975.
He was married to Flaudia Church May 9, 1936, in Chicago.
His widow survives, also four children, Bev (Mrs. Darol) Kaufmann, Superior. Wis.; James W. Baily, Fort Dodge; Judith (Mrs. Darryl) Merrell, Smyrna, Ga., and Joan (Mrs. Dennis) Zednichek, Marshalltown; a sister, Mrs Lois Ray, five grand children and three great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mr Baily was a member of the First Baptist Church.
