After being in failing health for a year and a patient at the St. Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette since March 22, Jerome C. Edris, 78, died Sunday night at 1 o'clock.

Before moving to Mulberry about twenty years ago, he had been engaged in farming. After moving to Mulberry, he was associated with the Kentland Dairy Co. until his retirement in 1965. Mr. Edris was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Mulbery.

Born in Sheffield township, Tippecanoe county on Dec. 11, 1886, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Ilzenfritz Edris.

Surviving besides the widow, Mrs. Emma E. Farbar Edris, to whom he was married Feb. 9, 1908, are one daughter, Mrs. William Gery of Mulberry route 1; a sister, Mrs. Dora McCray of Stockwell; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Vonderohe officiating. Burial was made in the Dayton cemetery.
