Lodema "Dema" Dodge Wilson, 93, of Rigby, died November 6, 2021 at her son Dan's home in Sandy, Utah. She was born April 4, 1928 in Ucon to Guy Ashley and Blanche Empey Dodge. She attended schools in Ucon.

In June, 1947, she married Robert "Bob" Franklin Wilson in Ucon, Idaho. They moved throughout Utah and California and finally settled in Ucon. Along the way, they had a daughter born in Utah, a daughter and two sons in California, and finally a daughter born in Idaho. They divorced in 1962. Their family now includes 5 children, 24 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

After the divorce, Dema moved her family to Boise. There she worked for Tandy Leather Company. Crafting was in her blood; she was in her element at Tandy's. In 1970 she married Dick Black, a friend of her brother. They moved to his home in Salmon. From this marriage she added an "adopted" daughter. When they divorced 2 years later, Dema stayed on in Salmon, working for her brother at the Roxy Movie Theater. She then worked for King B Jerky for 16 years. After retiring in 1990, she moved to Rigby. She spent her retirement years engaged in what she loved most—crafts. Her hobbies included ceramics, doll making, and designing jewelry. She loved sharing her creations with everyone she met. Her family and friends have many of her creations to treasure and remember her by.

Dema was fiercely independent, raising 5 children on her own. She was devoted to her family, always ready to help when we needed her, and always delighted with each new addition to the family. She made friends easily and kept many friends for a lifetime. She was a very talented, generous, and hard working woman. Dema was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various positions in both the Primary and Relief Society.

Survivors include her children: Dixie (Ned) Carter of Burley, Idaho; Diane (Ron) Tietjen of Rexburg, Idaho; Dan (Donna) Wilson, of Sandy, Utah; Don (Michelle) Wilson of Lake Point, Utah; Denise Bustos of Rigby, Idaho; "adopted" daughter Cindy (Steve) Houchens; and 1 sister Joan (Bruce) Beasley of Ellis, Idaho. Dema was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother: Monte Dodge; and 3 sisters: Isabelle Anderson, Darlene Scott and Elaine Woolsey.

A Memorial will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 700 Park Street in the LDS Church Gymnasium in Rexburg, Idaho. This will include a light lunch and an open microphone to share your memories. Interment will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
