S. E. Sterling Dies At Age 86
Naxera - Samuel Egerton Sterling, 86, a retired Gloucester County building contractor, died Saturday in a local nursing home.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Effie D. Sterling of Naxera; two daughters, Mrs. V. M. Sheppard of Cardwell and Mrs. N. J. Nolen of New Canton; two sons, Joseph O. Sterling of Seldon and Robert S. Sterling of Naxera; three sisters, Mrs. James Deal of Naxera, Mrs. Lloyd Clements of Nuttall and Mrs. N. B. Ethenridge of Norfolk; two brothers, J. A. Sterling of Naxera and Thomas J. Sterling of Norfolk; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken from Bridges Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday for a service at 4 p.m. at Severn Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. John C. Jennings, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
