Betty Jayne Bruce (nee Whiteker) Beloved wife of Homer C. Bruce for 67 years. Dear mother of Kevin (Sue) Bruce and Kimberly Bruce. Loving grandmother of Amy Knobl, Lindsay Widener, Zachary Smith and great grandmother of Kendyl and Katelyn Knobl. Devoted sister of Dorothy (Whiteker) Baker and Edward Whiteker. Preceded in death by her loving parents, William King and Irene (Edwards) Whiteker. Passed away Friday, December 17, 2021. Age 88 years. Betty was a longtime member of Mt. Healthy Christian Church, serving there as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher and remained active in the Women's Fellowship. She is a Past Matron of Marvin Chapter No. 376, O.E.S.; served as a Mentor at Greener Elementary School and was active in the Mt. Healthy Garden Club. Visitation will be held at Neidhard Young Funeral Home, 7401 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy on Wednesday, December 22 from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 12 Noon.
