Harry "Bernard" Arnold – age 89, of Plover, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Harry Bernard Arnold was born on April 20, 1932, in their home in Kamrar, Iowa. He was the son of Harry and Hattie (Tapper) Arnold. He graduated from Kamrar High School in 1949. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea from 1952-1954. While stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas, he met Jerrilee Hott and 8 months later, they were united in marriage on November 27, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas. They first lived north of Kamrar with Bernard's dad and two brothers, Norman and Gary. Then they moved to a farm near Highview, farming for five years, before moving to a farm southeast of Kamrar. Their final move was in 1970, when they bought their farm west of Plover. Bernard farmed from 1954 until 2009. In addition to farming, Bernard also worked several years for Beam Industries in Webster City.

Bernard was a "man of the land". He loved the farming process from planting through harvest. He raised hogs and beef cattle and loved to garden. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, going to auctions and woodworking. Give the man a "blueprint" and he would make anything you wanted. He was a man of many talents! Most of all, he loved to play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had so much love for Jerri and his family! Bernard knew no stranger and went out of his way to help others, even if that meant leaving his own work for later. There was nothing he could not fix!

Survivors include his children, Bruce (Cindy) Arnold, Brad (Linda) Arnold, Jean (Steve) Trimble all of Havelock, Brian (Michelle) Arnold of Riverside and Brent (Tami) Arnold of LeMars; grandchildren, Brittany and Christopher Arnold, Stephanie Nedved, Amber Macdonald, Brandon Arnold, Heidi Brenden, Ashley Egertsen, Lindsey McGargill, Molly Trimble, Austin, Garrett, Spencer and Zane Arnold, Bryce, Whitney and Asher Arnold; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Pat Arnold, Becke Arnold and Gail Hott and brothers-in-law, Sterling Isvik and Jim Hott.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 66 years, Jerrilee Arnold; his sisters, Ferne Deakman, LeNora Isvik and Lillian Shields; brothers, Norman Arnold and Gary Arnold; sister-in-law, Josie Arnold and brothers-in-law, DeVon Deakman and Bud Shields.

Memorials can be mailed to Jean Trimble, 43255 230th Avenue, Havelock, Iowa 50546
