He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Surviving are his wife, Emma Lee; a daughter, Dorothy Joines of Ontario Calif.; two sons, Phillip of Vienna, Va., and Eric; a stepdaughter, Debra Bloom of Fort Wayne; a stepson, Timothy Klossner of San Bernardino, Calif.; two brothers, Ted of Brookings Ore., and Richard of Valley Center, Calif.
