"MRS. JONAH HUGHES OF TUCKER RUN DIES: FUNERAL SATURDAY
Mrs. Elizabeth Lowry Hughes, 78 years old, died at 12:20 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at her home at Tucker Run, five miles east of Dunbar, of complications. Mrs. Hughes was born November 29, 1856, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lowry, both deceased. She had been a resident of Dunbar and vicinity all of her life. She was member of the Church of God and was a devout Christian for 46 years and was highly respected among her host of friends. Surviving are her husband, Jonah Hughes, and the following children: Mrs. Christine Walters, Connellsville; Hamilton Hughes, Natrona, Wyoming; Madison Hughes, Mount Braddock; Mrs. Mary Wilgust, Brookvale; Mrs. Viola Fuller, Dunbar; Sessel Hughes, Dunbar, and Jonah, Jr. of Tucker Run. There are two brothers, James I. Lowry and William H. Lowry of Percy. Forty-one grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive. A brief service will be conducted at the late home at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon followed by a full one at the Tucker Run Church of God at 2 o'clock. Rev. H. D. Parrier, pastor of the Dunbar Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Hughes Cemetery."
