David Lee Pinkerton, Jr. was born on September 30, 1948 and passed away on December 20, 2021 at the age of 73.
He was proceeded in death by his father David Lee Pinkerton, Sr. and mother Mary Virginia Walls Pinkerton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Shubert Pinkerton and devoted son and daughter, Todd (Jennifer) Pinkerton and Heather Pinkerton O'Neal. He was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren, Ashlea (Kyle) Brown, Brandon (Abigail) Pinkerton, Kelsey (Michael) Kulick, and Laken O'Neal, along with two beautiful great grandchildren, Oakleigh and Parker Brown. He had one special brother and sister-in-law, Larry (Deborah) Pinkerton, their children Alison (Alan) Horrocks, and Tad (Donna) Pinkerton, along with great niece Hilary Gamble and great nephews, Eric Gamble, Garrett Pinkerton and Ethan Pinkerton.
On August 12, 1977, David prepared for this day by receiving the Holy Ghost. He was a very devoted Child of God. He loved the Lord, his family and his church family. He believed in attending church regularly and instilled this in his children. He was a spiritual leader, encourager, example, and sound advisor. He was a family man and people person. Even as a young child, he loved the elderly and enjoyed having conversations with them. He was a giver and loved to help others. It was the little things that made him so special. At weddings, he enjoyed discreetly slipping the new groom money to help provide gas for the honeymoon. He was a very thoughtful and well-loved man.
In addition to serving the Lord and taking care of his family, he loved raising cattle. After retiring from Huntsville Utilities, he become acquainted with the breed Black Wagyu. He established Pinkerton Wagyu, LLC, in 2015. He loved working on the farm and seeing the fruits of his labor.
The family will be receiving friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday evening and from 12-2pm on Thursday, with funeral immediately following at Big Cove Holiness Church. Brother Wayne Walls, Brother Mark Warren and Brother Josh Trotman will be officiating. Burial will follow at Green Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to be made to Big Cove Holiness Church.
Interment will be in the Green Valley Cemetery.
