Bio
#1 - I miss the old Find a Grave site.
Other than that, I am a proud native son of the Big Cove Community in Madison County, Alabama. All branches of my family had settled there by the early 1900's – some much earlier than that. In fact, my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather, John Clan Grayson, was the original settler of Big Cove.
I have researched and studied genealogy since I was about fifteen years old; and I have found it to be a very gratifying pastime. I have extensively researched the Bird, Hunter, Adams, Brumbalow, Stapler, Vann, Hinshaw, Jacks, McKenzie, Guffey, Morgan, Brown, Godwin, and Smith Families, as well as other allied surnames and families of friends within the Big Cove Community.
I have a very large collection of old family photos, which have made their way around the internet after having posted them on Ancestry.com. I have mixed feelings about this. I do not mind sharing these priceless photographs; but I do wish people would ask before claiming them for their own and reposting. But oh well – history is meant to be shared.
I am happy to help anyone researching families in the Big Cove Community or other families with which I have a connection.
Also note, several of my entries reference a few books that I have written. Copies of these books are in Huntsville, Scottsboro, and Grant public libraries.
Consider the tone of your bio. Why sound hateful and selfish? If a family member requests a memorial and you only maintain the grave as a number, why not just transfer so that the family member can make a nice memorial for their loved one. Please do not let your ego get in the way of what is important - perserving the memory of loved ones for future generations. Lets try to help each other do that.
That being said, THANK YOU so much to everyone who has been willing to complete a transfer for me! You are the best!
