Jimmy Doyle Spivey, age 78, of Bloomburg, Texas, went to be with the Lord Friday, December 17, 2021 in a Little Rock, Arkansas Hospital.

Jimmy was born January 17, 1943, at Cass, Texas to Carl and Lillie Spivey. He was retired after forty-five years from Day and Zimmerman; and was a life-long member of Cass Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, working with his hands and was a jack of all trades but he especially enjoyed keeping the grounds at Cass Baptist Church and Cass Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Alex Bradley Bruner; brothers, Lanny Keith Spivey, Gary Wayne Spivey, Johnny D. Spivey; sisters, Janice Wilbanks, Mary Garren, Diane Wood; and his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Sharon Spivey of Bloomburg, Texas; two daughters, Angela Bruner and husband D.J. of Atlanta, Texas, Katie Spivey and fiancé Daniel Brumley of Queen City, Texas; brothers, Larry Spivey of Texarkana, Texas, Terry Spivey and wife Deb of Texarkana, Texas; sisters, Myrel Ham and husband Kenneth of Cass, Texas, Sheila Baugus of Cass, Texas; sister-in-law, Nikki Spivey of Cass, Texas; grandchildren, Hayden Bruner, Braden Spivey, Layken Bruner, Maddie Brumley; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Cass Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Jason York officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, December 20, 2021, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Cass Cemetery.
