Mary Alice Garren, age 72, of Cass, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her residence.
Mary was born, August 4, 1944, in Cass County, Texas, to Carl and Lillie Spivey. She was retired from Golden Villa Nursing Home and was a member of Cass Baptist Church. She loved spending time with family, flower gardening, watching hummingbirds and was known by all as the sweetest hardworking woman that they knew. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Janice Wilbanks.
She is survived by three sons; Randy Spivey, Brad Garren and wife Jennifer of Texarkana, Texas, Bobby Garren and wife Tonya of Doddridge, Arkansas,; four brothers, Larry Spivey of Texarkana, Texas, Jimmy Spivey and wife Sharon of Cass, Texas, Johnny Spivey and wife Nikki of Cass, Texas, Terry Spivey and wife Deb of Texarkana, Texas; three sisters, Myrel Ham and husband Kenneth of Cass, Texas, Shelia Baugus of Cass, Texas, Diane Wood of Cass, Texas; an aunt, Erma Dunlap of Cass, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan Garren, Bryan Garren, Dylan Lollar, Gracie Garren, Kyle Garren; one great-grandchild, Maddux Garren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Cass Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Bro. Jason York officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Cass Cemetery.
