Butch Bishop, 67, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a former heavy equipment operator, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and loved spending time with his friends and family.
Butch was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Bishop; mother, Jewell Smith Reynolds; step-father, Owen Reynolds; brothers, Teddy Bishop and Bill church; brothers-in-law. E.O. Salyer Jr, Roger Beverly and Buford G. Sturgill; sister-in-law, Kay Bishop and nephews, Todd Robinson and E.O. Salyer III.
Surviving are his loving wife of 34 years, Judy Bishop; two daughters, Lori Bishop and David Blanton and Heather Bishop and husband F.D. Colyer; two grandchildren, Lennon Colyer and Lily Grace Blanton; three sisters, Mary Ann Sturgill, Sharon Beverly and Janet Salyer; a brother, Donnie Church and wife Wanda; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family of Butch Bishop will receive friends on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. till 2:00 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside services with burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA with Pastor Phillip Bates Officiating.
Sturgill Funeral Home 1621 Norton Road SW Wise, VA 2493 is in charge of arrangements.
