With her husband Joseph M King, Jr. they managed Bud Ritters A&W Root Beer Stand for several years. Edna along with her sister Bonnie Satterthwaite owned and operated Atz's Ice Cream Shoppe. When it closed Edna went to work at Meis, Carson's and Elder Beerman for a total of 17 years.
She moved to Venice in 2001. She worked at Nokomis Orange Groves which is famous for their delicious ice cream.
Her hobbies were water aerobics, golf, card club and fun bus trips! Eddie was the nickname given to her by her friends in Venice. She loved cooking for family and friends along with her specialty in baking pies.
Her greatest love was visits from her family and grandkids. Eddie was always ready for a good time, she loved music and dancing.
Survivors are her three daughters, Rita (Jerry) Collins, Tina (Dennis) Cole and Tilli (Michael) Horsley. Her grandchildren, Tiffany (Martin) Bragg, Devin Cole (April Toy), Staci (Adam) Greene, Brett (Angela)Horsley, Andrea Horsley, John Collins, Nicole Collins (Mike Kukuris), along with 17 great grandkids and 4 great-great grandkids, plus, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Pearl (John) Parks, Mary Ellen (Austin) Anderson, Francis Robbins, Ruth (Randall) Phillips, Glen (Kate) Robbins, Bonnie (Robert) Satterthwaite and grandson Troy Collins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hostess House on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The family requests no gifts or flowers.
