Troy Lee Mills
Funeral services for Troy Lee Mills, 81, of Yantis will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Yantis First Baptist Church with the Rev. Shannon Hassell officiating. Burial will follow at Yantis Cemetery with Ronnie Mills, Ronnie Housewright, Shannon Davis, Trey Norris, Ed McKiddy and Bob Thomas serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Mr. Mills died at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in Tyler.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1925, in the Callis community of Collin County, the son of Jessie Willard Mills and Leona Pauline Pryor Mills.
He married Gladys R. Kincaid on Dec. 11, 1959, in Forney. She preceded him in death in 2003.
Mr. Mills was a retired machinist, working for Vent-a-Hood for more than 33 years. For more than 20 years he was the caretaker of Yantis Cemetery and Sharp Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Troy Paul Mills and wife, Sue Barham, of Yantis; two granddaughters, Tina Davis and husband, Shannon, and Tonya Norris and husband, Trey, all of Yantis; four great-grandchildren, Taelor Rawson, Trenton Norris, Taryn Davis and Shanda Davis; two brothers, Edwin Mills of Greenville and Wendell Mills of Plano; and one sister, Aretis Lockridge of Fate.
Mr. Mills was preceded in death by one infant son, Jerry Wayne Mills, in 1950, and one brother, Eugene Mills in 2002.
