Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. THIS AFTERNOON, December 13, in the First United Methodist Church with Howard Martin officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery.
Les was born on November 7, 1933, in Rogers to the late Robert Herbert and Mary Florence Davis Gandy. He married Myra Lynn Herring on June 14, 1958, at the Polytechnic Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Les served his country during WWII in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Stephenville Optimist Club. Les spent his life either coaching or as a school administrator. He began his career at Santo as a coach and principal, spent time at Mozelle ISD, was superintendent and coached at Huckabay ISD, and Coolidge ISD. Les and Myra moved back to Stephenville in the early 70's and Les served the Stephenville ISD as their Tax Assessor, assistant superintendent until he retired. Les also served the Stephenville ISD as a school board member. He enjoyed playing golf, and doing yard work.
Les and Myra were honored to have the former high school gym and the new gym at Stephenville High School name in their honor, for 36 years of service to the Stephenville ISD
