Ruby Black Griffin, 87, of Escalante and St. George, Utah, died Dec. 17, 2007, at Ridgeview Gardens- her "home-away-from-home". Her daughter, Pauline and her husband Dennis, and her "adopted" Ridgeview daughters (who have loved and cared for her the past three years ) were at her bedside. She was born March 20, 1920 in Provo, Utah, to John and Dora May Robison Black. She married Claron Ray Griffin on July 30, 1937. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1998. They had two daughters, Janet (deceased) and Pauline.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Pauline (Dennis) Lott; grand-daughters, Elaine Lott, and Emilee (Mike) Lott-Woosley, all of Escalante; grandson (John (Corrine) Spencer, Orem; three great-grand-children, as well as many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, granddaughter, Tamara (Jeff) Olsen; and a great-grandson, Griffin Clyde Olsen.

Funeral Services will be held on Fri. December 21, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Morningside LDS Stake Center, 900 S. Riverside Drive, St, George. Friends may call at the Stake Center in St. George on Fri. morning 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Additional Services will be held on Sat. December 22, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Escalante Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel in Escalante on Sat. morning after 10 a.m.
Burial will be in the Escalante Cemetery.
