After high school, he moved to Portland, OR, to work for the Department of Defense. He was drafted into the US Army in 1943, served under Patton in WW2 and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Jimmy founded Cagle Communications in Roseburg in 1970, a company that he operated until his retirement in 2012.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Irene Gertrude Cagle née Whalen, and son, Jimmy Lee Cagle, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Mary Cagle née Alexander, daughter, Karen Gilson; grandchildren, Elizabeth Gilson, Sarah Cagle and Daniel Cagle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Grove Community Church, 1729 Buckhorn Rd, Roseburg, OR, on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.
Arrangements are being handled by Musgrove Family Mortuary and private interment will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene, Or.
