June was born in Dansville on June 4, 1955 to the late Richard & Carleen (Cooley) Smith. She was a janitor at Wayland-Cohocton Central School. June was an amazing cook and enjoyed travelling to Tennessee to see her family; she also enjoyed camping. June was known for making crochet blankets for all the new babies in the family and guaranteed to have them done before the baby arrived; she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren.
June is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Smith; her daughters: Jody Smith & Tina (Jason) Perkins; her grandchildren: Alex, Robyn, Zoe, Chris, Jayson, Zaira, Emily & Tommy; her great-granddaughter, Kylah; her siblings: Rick (Mary) Smith, Doreen (Darwin) Bacon, Jackie (Dennie) Cromp, Melody Smith, Bonnie (Bill) Galton, & Leonard (Kim) Smith; her aunts & uncles: Darwin Cooley, Bill Cooley & Alma Teets; her brother & sister in-law: Judy Smith-Cronk & Sam (Sally) Smith; and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
In addition to her parents, June was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Tim Smith; and many aunts & uncles.
Family & friends are invited to call from 4pm – 6pm on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 300 W. Naples Street, Wayland, where funeral services will be held at 6pm.
