Mary Dixson Funeral Today

Services were conducted today (Thursday) for Mrs. Mary Maude Dixson, 85, by the Rev. Lynn Johnston and the Rev. LeRoy Freeman in the Chapel of Prickett's Mortuary of Forest Grove. Mrs. Lynn Johnston served as soloist and Mrs. Gordon Merrill as organist. Mrs. Dixson died Monday in a local hospital.

She was born Jan. 16, 1876, at Pilot Mound, Iowa, the duaghter of Jacob and Rebecca Harden Dixon. She was married to William C. Dixson at Alma, Neb., in 1894, and he preceded her in death in 1933. Mrs. Dixson moved to the Forest Grove area in 1894 and has lived there since except a short time spent in Idaho. For the past 41 years she had been a resident of Dilley.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lois) Knighten and Miss Joy Dixson, both of Dilley; Mrs. Sam A. (Thelma) Smouse of Tillamook, and Mrs. Earl C. (Tressa) Nielson of Sanger, Calif.; 10 granchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Lawrence Dixon of Harlowtown, Mont.

Committal services were held in the Forest View cemetery with Gus Anderson, John Anderson, Lawrence Anderson, Wilfred Marshall, Clarence Combs and Ola Arthur, casket bearers.
