Joe was the fourth son and eighth child of Thomas Rodgers Austin Sr and Bertha Pitner Austin. He grew up and lived in Acworth, GA most of his life. He served in the US Army in Germany and after discharge, returned to Acworth living with his mother on Acworth Due West Rd. He leaves his bride, Lee Hightower Austin, stepdaughter, Amanda, stepson Paul and grandchildren he adored. He was a lifetime member of Mars Hill Presbyterian Church.∼Joe David Austin, 84, of Dallas, passed away Tuesday December 7, 2021. A memorial service will be held 11:00am on Tuesday December 21, 2021, in the Mars Hill Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bryant Harris officiating. Mr. Austin was a long term member of Mars Hill Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by son Stephen Cooper.
