He was born on January 25, 1944 in Antigo, a son of the late Charles and Evelyn (Hitz) Lemmens. He married Judy Boerschel on July 25, 1964 at St. John Catholic Church.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1962. He was the custodian at St. John Catholic Church and School for 40 years.
Bud enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, and golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; two daughters, Donna (Tim) Mesalk of Wausau and Diane (Tony) Warren of Rothschild; four grandchildren, Nathan (Lindsey) Mesalk, Tyler Mesalk, Brittany (Justin) Dahl, and Casey (fiancé Alexandrea Shea) Warren; four great-grandchildren, Hudson Mesalk, Brantley, Olivia and Colton Dahl; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Duff of Racine and Ronald Boerschel of Antigo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Duff and nephew, Charles Duff.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will take place on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
