Caroline Griffith was the daughter of William Hayes and Mary Ann Chambers of Washington County, MD. Unfortunately, the information in her Altoona Tribune obituary was not entirely correct. She was actually married to Elias Griffith in Washington County, MD in 1848 and not 1830.
