Gene served in the United States Army in Alaska during the Korean War. He married Betty Jo Walker on July 23, 1955. They had 31 wonderful years together until her passing in October of 1986. He worked at Dayton Press for 30 years and retired from Gordon Supply. Gene was a parishioner at St Helen's Church since 1962. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity offering his experience in woodworking. Gene enjoyed bowling and was proud of his 300 game. He also enjoyed playing euchre.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gene was preceded in death by his son, David; three brothers Walter, Richard, and Ralph, two sisters Virginia and Charlotte.
Gene will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio.
