Our beloved sister Ruth Elizabeth Miles, departed this life Nov. 30, 2021, at Parkview Medical Center, Ruth was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Pueblo, Colo., where she wed her handsome husband, Ray Eugene Miles, June 14, 1958, also of Pueblo, Colo.
Ruth was a long-standing member of St. Paul A.M.E., where she sang in the church choir and actively participated in many church activities.
Ruth attended college at USC, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Ruth later began her successful career as a Civil Service Worker at the Pueblo Amy Depot. Her work later transferred her to the Office of Personnel at Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she faithfully commuted from Pueblo to Colorado Springs for more than 30 years, before she retired.
Ruth was a beautiful person both inside and out. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, friends and relatives.
Ruth enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, bowling and won trophies in several bowling tournaments and collecting figurines from places she traveled while on TDY. Ruth particularly enjoyed spending time with her special group of friends that she worked with and they called themselves the ½ dirty dozen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi Ida Mary Smith and Mr. Andrew T. Smith; sister, Bernice Inez Brown; and brother, Joseph Andrew Smith "Buster."
Funeral service, 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
