Raymond Eugene Miles, 80, a retired forman for the CF&I wire mill galvanized department, departed this life April 17, 2014, at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center. A lifetime Puebloan, he was born June 2, 1933, to Deacon Leonard and Mary Miles, both who preceed him in death. He graduated from Central High School and Pueblo Junior College. He served in the U.S. Army, where he received the U.N. service medal, National Defense service medal and the Korean service medal. Ray was an artist who loved painting portraits of friends and relatives. He was an avid bowling enthusiast. His average was 278. He also enjoyed football, basketball and golf. On June 14, 1956, Ray married the love of his life, Ruth Elizabeth Smith Miles. He leaves her to cherich his memory, also three children, Eric E. (Tracy) of Fountain, Colo., Linette Miles of Atlanta, Ga., and Kimberly Miles of Pueblo; a sister, Charlotte (James) Pulley of Denver; two brothers, Carl (Susie) Miles of Colorado Springs and Reverand Orval (Shirley) Miles of Pueblo; four grandchildren, Kimberly Lawson, Crystal Spencer, and Doran and Brittney Thames; three great-grandchildren, Jerrell Hoffman, and Elijah and Brooklyn Thames; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation, 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Angelus Chapel. Funeral service, 1 p.m. Wednesday, Bethlehem Baptist Church. Full military honors at graveside, Imperial Cemetary, by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.
