Ethel was a 1958 graduate of the Osceola Mills School which pre-dated the Philipsburg Osceola Area High School. She was a long time Pennsylvania State employee, working for 30+ years in the Bureau of Employment Security and retiring as an office supervisor. Ethel was also an avid scrapbooker who, over a 20-year period, chronicled her family's heritage through photos and news articles. She played saxophone in the Bellefonte Community Band for many years and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Bellefonte.
Ethel is survived by her four children: Robert Hall (Diane) of Palmyra; David Hall (Kathleen) of Bluffton, SC; Chris Hall (Patty Mayes), of Bellefonte, and Vickie Hancock (Gregory), of Lock Haven. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Ashley, Keagan, Lindsey, Cameron, Renea, Joshua, John R., John T., and Chris II; and 19 great grandchildren. Ethel's sole surviving sibling, Ruthann, lives in Sydney, Australia.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 6-8 pm, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 am with viewing an hour prior, at the First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Rd., Bellefonte, PA, with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating. Burial will follow in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA.
