Edith Bernice Luthy, the daughter of Fred and Pearl (Omel) Bachman, was born at Giltner, Nebraska, on December 18, 1934, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, after a short bout with cancer, on January 29, 1991, at the age of 56 years, 1 month, and 11 days.

She grew up in the Giltner area, and graduated from Giltner High School. After graduation she moved to Long Beach, California where she worked at Proctor & Gamble for one year. She then returned to Nebraska, and was employed in Grand Island.

On February 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Norman Luthy in the First Christian Church at Giltner. After her marriage she resided on the family farm, northwest of Aurora.

Edith was a member of the Christian Church in Aurora, and was active in the church circles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Leta Bachman at age 2, and one infant brother.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Norman of Aurora; 2 sons, Greg and his wife Jill of Aurora, and Jeff of Aurora; one daughter, Susan Nelson and her husband Dough of Burke, Virginia; 4 grandchildren, Jessica and Britian Luthy and Megan and Jennifer Nelson; 5 brothers, George Bachman, Harold Bachman, Earl Bachmand and Elmer Bachman all of Giltner, and Carl Bachman of Long Beach, California; and one sister Viola Dolen of Huntington Beach, California.
