TROY -- Graveside rites for Theodore Leonard Burns were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Troy Cemetery with the Rev. Joey Lansdale officiating.
Burns died April 20, 1997, in Tishomingo. He was born March 18, 1914, at Hugo, to William A. and Mary E. Burns.
An Air Corps veteran, he had lived in Johnston County 45 years and was a retired steel construction foreman. He and Clara Brookshire were married Oct. 11, 1951, at Denison, Texas. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy; stepdaughter, Ethel Olds; a brother, O.W.; and sister, Delores Burns.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; a son, Leonard Miller, Mill Creek; a daughter, Deanna Mixon, Mobety, Texas; three brothers, T.J., Madill, C.E., Newcastle, and Thomas, Purcell; two sisters, Willie Mae Rowe, Mill Creek, and Ruth Leonard, Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Honorary bearers were Kenneth Converse, Pete, Leonard, William, Johnny and Bill Miller.
Corbin Funeral Home directed services.
