Joey was the beloved son of the late John L. May, Sr. and Dora (Malpino) May.
He leaves behind his brothers, John L. May, Jr. (Lois) and Kenneth, a sister, Barbara Ruggieri, many nieces and nephews, along with best friend, Linda Koenig.
Joey's life was as colorful as his personality. After a 30-year exemplary career as a chef for a number of casinos in Las Vegas, he returned to Rhode Island to take care of his parents.
Besides tending to his gardens, and deep-sea fishing on Narragansett Bay, Joey spent time with family, friends, and neighbors, always enjoying sharing a story or serving wonderful gourmet meals. Buono Gusto !
A graveside service was held at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, 6365 Post Rd, North Kingstown, on Tuesday December 7th, 2021.
