R. DENNIS MAY, 43, of Night Flower Lane, Las Vegas, Nev., a bartender for the Sands Hotel and the Excalibur Hotel for the past 20 years, died Friday in an automobile accident in Beatty, Nev.
Born in Providence, a son of J. Lewis and Dora (Malpino) May of North Kingstown, he lived in North Kingstown for 20 years before moving to Nevada 24 years ago.
Mr. May was a 1971 graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island. He was a member of Local 165, Bartenders Union, in Las Vegas. He was a member of the Lake Mead Yacht Club. He was a ski instructor and a member of the Brianhead (Utah) Ski Team, and the Nastar Race Team. With national ranking, and the recipient of 23 gold medals, he was also the Nevada ski champion in downhill racing in 1993.
Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers and a sister.
