Richard L. "Dick" Pearson, 82, of rural Delphi, passed away Thursday-November 25, 2021 at 12:15pm at his home. He had been in ill health the past year. He was born March 28, 1939 in Colburn, to the late Edward Pearson & Viola Sheets Pearson Vore.

Dick was close to his stepfather John Vore, who helped raise him. His first marriage was to Barbara J. Pritts in Flora on December 30, 1957, and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2007. He then married Donnetta K. Davis Wheeldon at Dick's home near Delphi on August 18, 2017, and she survives.

He attended school in Carroll County. He worked for Mann Chevrolet in Flora for several years, then went to work for DeFouw Chevrolet in Lafayette, in the used car department for 41 years. Dick enjoyed small engine repair, and would buy & sale lawn mowers and other yard equipment he would rehab and fix. He enjoyed bartering with people and loved to help anyone in need. He always had a motorcycle, and enjoyed going on rides with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family, and being social to any and all he met while out on a family excursion. He never met a stranger.

His greatest love was for his family. He enjoyed having all of them at his house for family gatherings. That was his life. He dearly loved them all.

Surviving: wife-Donnetta K. Pearson of Delphi; daughters-Peggy & Tony Brooks of Delphi, Tina & Roger Pettiner of Camden, Tammy & Mike Brovont of Delphi, Penny & Ron Stevens of Delphi; sons-Scott & Tracy Pearson of rural Camden, Steve & Jenny Pearson of Camden; stepchildren-Sharon & Scott Bail of Monticello, Susan Yost & Russ Yerowiktz of Edna Mills; Lucinda; Paul; & Cindy who lived with him and he helped raise; special family friend-Claudette Rodkey of Frankfort. 11 grandchildren & 6 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren & 9 step great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren survive.

Preceded in death by a son in law Jim Allen; 4 sister's & 1 brother. Services:

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. His funeral service will be there Wednesday at 11am, Rev. Ed Selvidge officiating. Burial at Camden Cemetery.
