Ardell was the daughter of Jesse Jasper "Jay" and Edna Ann Camp Ferguson. Her parents are buried in Ferguson Cemetery. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She passed away in her home near Rusk in Cherokee County. She was survived by her husband, L. M. Hanson of Rusk; three sons, Randall Bowman of Tyler, J. H. Bowman of Rusk, and Billy Joe Hanson of Rusk; five daughters, Mrs. Edward Baggett of Tyler, Mrs. Charles Cochran of Houston, Mrs. Norman Flora of Custer, SD, Mrs. Doyle Pearson of Rusk, and Winnie Richardson of Clute; one brother, Ennis Ferguson of Splendora; three sisters, Luna Franklin Ferguson Brumley of Palestine, Iva Pearl "Pete" Ferguson Boatwright of Palestine, and Maggie Vernice Ferguson Stacks of Hemmit, CA; 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bobby Neil Bowman, Elvis Larry Bowman, Gary Bowman, Larry Bowman, Otha Floyd Hooper Jr. and Thomas Howard Cochran. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Pearson, Eddie Baggett, Joseph Bowman, Joey Bowman, Jason Bowman, Ronnie Flora and Billy Randal Bowman. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Sunday, 12 October 1980.
