Harold was born on September 2, 1943, in Giles County to the late Marvin Lee and Louise Hare Blankenship.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Blankenship.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Carlene Marie Patteson Blankenship of the home, his children, James Blankenship and wife, Melissa, Andy Blankenship and wife, Gloria, Crystal Leech and husband, JR, grandchildren, Christopher Blankenship, Tyler Blankenship, Mark Blankenship, Taylor Blankenship, Caleb Blankenship, Logan Brown, Ryan Epperly, Nevaeh Epperly, Justin Craighead, Jeremy Craighead, Dillon Craighead, Denise Craighead, Lauren Craighead, Briana Craighead, Josh Leech, Joey Leech, great-grandchildren, Savanna Blankenship, Zachary Blankenship, and Daniel Blankenship, his siblings, Larry Blankenship and wife, Carleena, Loretta Martin and Doris Lindsey, sister in laws, Alinda Parcell and husband, Jerry, Leah Patteson, Sandra Blankenship, and several boys Mr. Blankenship taught how to hunt and fish.
A funeral service for Harold will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 12:00 noon In the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Boothe officiating. Burial will take place in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services. Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke will be serving the Blankenship family.
