After a long and beautiful life, Glendene Marie Eskridge, age 102, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Granby House in Granby, Missouri. She was born on April 29, 1919, in Noel, Missouri, the daughter of the late Glen and Marie (Durpheigh) Wylie. On December 24, 1938, she married Claude Eskridge in Southwest City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1966.
Glendene was a 1937 graduate of Noel High School and worked for Jack Pew Oil Company, the Neosho Senior Center, and was a florist for Neosho Floral and Becks Floral and Gifts. She served 71 years as a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Glendene was a dear friend to all and had such a giving heart. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. She was often referred to as "The Little General" by her loved ones. Some of her most enjoyable times were spent with family on "the river" in Noel, working in her yard and canning with her daughter. Glendene's famous blueberry pie and vegetable soup were favorites she enjoyed making. Watching her great-grandchildren grow up brought her great joy. Glendene always parted with a "Love You Much", which we will forever remember. Our loving Gran will be missed dearly.

She will be lovingly missed by her daughter Karen Latimer and her husband, Jim, of Webb City, Missouri; one son, Dan Michael Eskridge of Granby, Missouri; grandchildren, Tammy (Shaun) Martin, Leigh (Mike) Miller, Jenny (Eric) Parker, Dustin (Cody) Eskridge, and Lauren Eskridge; and great-grandchildren, Zach and Zoe Martin, Caden, Drake and Eli Miller, Alexandra, Treghan and Briella Parker, Alyssa (Copper) Perry, Ciara and Makenna Eskridge; and four nieces, Robin Law, Tommye Kay Wilkerson, Susan Beck, and Fran Robertson.

Her brother, Nap Wylie, and two sisters, Mildred Robertson and Ernestine Coffee preceded her in death.
