Fred A. Smith Jr., 75, Reynoldsville, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his home.
Born November 26, 1945, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Fred A. and Helen E. (Kennedy) Smith Sr.
On August 13, 1976, he married Eleanor (Colrey) Smith in Reynoldsville. She survives.
Fred graduated from Reynoldsville High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1969. Fred retired from Owens Illinois as a maintenance electrician in 2008. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, repairing anything broken, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Fred was a scout leader in Cub Scouts. He was Protestant by faith.
In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by three children, Scott Snyder, DuBois, Joshua (Christina Lingenfelter) Smith, Reynoldsville, and Carrie Murray, Reynoldsville; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Smith, Aslin Murray, Nolan Murray, and Scotty Snyder Jr.; a sister, Betty Bennett, Reynoldsville, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Anna Martz, and a son, Carman Benninger.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium. Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.
