Sheryl Wenona Greeness French received her angel wings in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 7, 2021, surrounded by family and friends at home.

Sheryl was born October 18, 1954, in Melrose Park, Illinois. Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Sheryl was a Charter Member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bastrop, Texas; where she and husband Mike were married November 17, 1979. There is a lot to be said about Sheryl, but for those closest to her, she will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her friendliness, her compassion and grace. She was a genuine caring woman with a heart of gold. She was forgiving, kind, fun loving and always ready for a good time. Completely loyal to her family and enjoyed the encounters with everyone in the community while working at the Bastrop Post Office. Her greatest joys were her children and grand children especially, enjoying her #1 baseball player "her Grandson" in which she never missed a game. Another passion was enjoying all the children and their families at Sweetpea Learning Center in which she owned.

She was blessed with a loving marriage of 42 years with the love of her life. They enjoyed dancing, traveling, following the Velvets Band in their younger years and trips to Mexico. Its truly a love affair that many of us long to have.

Proceeded in death by her mother, Bertha Mae Engvall; father, Howard Greeness; step-father, Kenny Engvall; brothers, Howard Greeness (Butch), Robert (Bobby) Greeness; grandson, Michael Joiner; her special Aunt, Bessy Edwards; nephew, Lance Greeness; in-laws, Wilma & Bryson French; and brother-in-law Dorwin (Buddy) French.

Survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Mike French; daughters, Sherri Fiscus (Jon Fiscus), Christi Hopkins; and her beloved grandchildren, Brayden and Chelsea Fiscus; brother, Ronald (Ronnie) Greeness; brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Cavalry Baptist Church followed by internment at High Grove Cemetery with The Celebration of Life immediately following at The American Legion Post #533, in Bastrop where we welcome all to join us to Celebrate Sheryl's Life.
