Alexander - John Georg, 74, died Wednesday afternoon at the Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, after an illness of about six months.
A prominent farmer in the Alexander area, he was born March 28, 1896, at Lincoln, Neb. He married Mildred Blansit Aug. 27, 1944 in Great Bend.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in La Crosse and the Alexander Kiwanis Club. He served on the Alexander Co-op Board of Directors.
Survivors include the widow: daughter, Mrs. George (Joan) Hindertaker, Willmar, Minn.; son, Donald of Lincoln, Neb.; brothers, Fred of Alexander; Henry of St. John; Pete, 2431 Zarah Dr., Great Bend; four sisters, Millie Georg, La Crosse, Mrs. Richard (Elizabeth) Dear, Kansas City, Kan.: Mrs. Albert (Otellia) Wassenmiller, Hays; Mrs. Paulus (Marie) Schroeder, Westminster, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church in La Crosse with the Rev. Kenneth Will officiating. Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Cook and Weber Funeral Home, Great Bend, until 9 a.m. Saturday and at the church until time of services. The casket will not be opened following services.
Family suggests memorial to the church.
