The funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Medie will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Dalzell. The Rev. Thaddeus Tran will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Spring Valley. The Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley is honored to assist the family.
Medie was born in Spring Valley on May 19, 1925, to Felix and Odessa (Zimmerman) Sandusky. She married Ralph Luckey on June 30, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church in DePue.
She worked at Carus Chemical for 28 years and held a patent for cleaning booster rockets for NASA. She had also worked as a welder at the Seneca Shipyard during World War II, then at Bassick's in Spring Valley and then in the office for GTE in Spring Valley. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Dalzell and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Medie is survived by her husband Ralph of Spring Valley; her son, Don (Vicki) Guisti of La Salle; three grandchildren, Dan (Lucy) Guisti, Chrissy Guisti and Ken Terzick; four great grandchildren, Abbey Guisti, Izzy Rosales, Jackie Guisti, and Addie Trillet.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Corbett; second husband, Gene Guisti; a granddaughter, Jennifer Guisti in infancy; a brother, Donald Sandusky; a sister, Verna Sciuto.
