Barry "Pounder" Tessman, age 64, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 19, 2021, with Pastor Bob Fall officiating. Burial will follow at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, and on Friday prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Barry was born in Alma, Michigan on July 3, 1957, the son of Robert and Betty Jean (Carman) Tessman. Barry enjoyed fishing and gardening. He liked to work on anything with a motor, especially his AMC Eagles. He loved his family and always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Barry fought a courageous battle with cancer and refused to let it define his life.
Barry is survived by 5 siblings: Betty "Bug" Shaw, Rudolph "Bill" Tessman, Noreen "Bumper" (Gary) Smith, Robert "Joe" Tessman, and Hilda "Tink" Farkas; sisters-in-law: Vicki Tessman, and Chris Andrews; children: Samuel Koutz, April (Rob) McQuaid, Roxanne (Randy) Most, Quincy (Dawn) Pease, Stephen Pease, and Sonya (Levi) Ives; many nieces and nephews and his grandchildren: Herb, Hazel, Bethany, Rose, Autumn, Zoey, and Aiden. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Earl Tessman, 4 brothers: Gerald "Stud" Tessman, Danny "Crowbar" (Barbara) Tessman, Donald "Doc" Andrews, Nick "Bogie" Tessman; sister-in-law Carol Tessman, daughter Amie Russell, his niece Betty Jean Shaw, and nephew Joel Tessman.
