Joan Nell Young of Loop passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on November 15, 2021. She was 85 years of age.

She was born in Loop on March 4, 1936 to Altus James Jones and Lillie Stone Jones. On January 12, 1955, she married Kenneth Waymon Young. Together they had two children, Mike Young of Loop and Diane McCutchen of Brownfield. She dearly loved her grandchildren Michael Ribble, Trevor Young and Kelli Young Moore; her three-great-grandchildren, Tanner Ribble, Taryn Ribble and Bennett Moore. She never stopped being the big sister to her brother Altus Joel Jones of Loop.

Joan was the glue of her family. Cooking for and gathering them at her home was a great joy for her. Another great joy for Joan was the preaching work and her spirituality. Joan was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on May 6, 1956. Many will miss her.

Pallbearers were Michael Ribble, Kelly Edwards, Tanner Ribble, Taryn Ribble, Trevor Young, Tanner Moore and Kelli Moore.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, November 18, 10 a.m. at the Loop Cemetery. Richard Demaray of the Lubbock Jehovah's Witnesses officiated.
