Mrs. Avis Childers Alligood, 88 of Dublin passed away Monday, November 15, 2021.  Mrs Alligood was retired from Forstmann and Co. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.  Avis Enjoyed shopping, fishing, country music, watching Hee Haw and making cemetery flower arrangements. She loved spending time with her family and telling old family stories to the younger generations.

Mrs. Alligood was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Childers and Alma Manus Childers, brothers, Richard Childers and Harry Childers, sister Alice Walker and a son, Ronnie Mosley.

Survivors include her husband, Carroll Alligood of Dublin, son, Gene Mosley (Jean) of Dublin, stepdaughter, Stacy Roberts, (Eddie) of Brunswick, grandchildren, Tracey Mosley (Angie), Holly Self (Lee), Rhonda Mosley Lumley, great grandchildren, Dustin Self, Ronald Mosley, Haley Self, Amber Mosley, Austin Self, Dawson Lumley, Greyson Lumley, Donovan Roberts and Margo Roberts.

Nieces and nephews, Chris Chavis (Amanda), Jessica Paul (Buck), Becky McDonald (David) Richard Childers II (Wanda), Sianne Brown, Mitchell Childers (Shelia) Ricky Childers (Sue), Jeffery Childers (Christi) Patrick Childers, Jennifer Dominick (Cristello) several other nieces and nephews, brothers, Otis Childers (Betty) Clarence Childers (Pam), and Arthur Childers.

Services will be held at 2:30 Friday, November 19, 2021, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Alligood Cemetery with Rev. Grady Mimbs and Dan Childers officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Tony Johnson, Donnie Alligood, Tim Johnson, Eddie Roberts, Tracey Mosley and Ronald Mosely will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alligood Cemetery, 1833 Alligood Lane, Dexter, GA 31019.

Townsend Brothers Funeral Home and Staff respectfully ask all in attendance to follow social distancing guidelines.
