Leon K. Graves, 78, of Washington, Kansas died November 13, at the Linn Community Nursing Home. He was born March 6, 1943 to James and Josephine (Stone) Graves. He grew up on the family farm north of Morrowville/Haddam area and graduated from Morrowville High School. He was a member of the Christian Church of Morrowville.

He resided most of his life in Washington where he was employed by Washington County Highway department for 39 years. His love was sports, where he enjoyed bowling in the local league. He also followed Chief's football and loved watching the Royals play. He did not miss a season opener of the Colorado Rockies.

Leon is survived by his brothers Erwin of Roseville, CA, and Robert (Betty) of Haddam, KS.; Sisters, Violice (late John) O'Connor, Lincoln, NE, Mary (Stoney) Burke, Lakewood, CO, Eunice Graves, Loveland, CO, Sister-in-law Betty Graves of Greenleaf, KS, and Esther Lightwine of Ft. Scott, KS, Brother-in-law Steve Graff, Fairbury, NE, Several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents James and Josephine, Brothers: John, Kevin, and Merlin; Sisters: Jolene, and Jeanniene; and niece, Michelle Poteet.

Pallbearers will be Bradley Graves, Brian Graves, Travis Graves, Tracy Graves, Randy Bramblett, Steven O'Connor, and Joel O'Connor. Burial will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery north of Morrowville, Ks.
