On October 3, 1948, Alvin was united in marriage to Betty Schaefer at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Staplehurst. He spent over 50 years in the insurance industry in Seward and Lincoln. He was a member of the Seward V.F.W. Post #4755, American Legion Post #33, St. John Lutheran Church and was a past member of the Seward City Council. Alvin passed away in Seward, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 7 days.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Larry) Zillig, Lincoln, Nebraska, Patricia (Larry) Stanton, Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska; grandchildren, Rachel (Drew) Kelley, Larry J. (Jennifer) Stanton, Eric (Stephanie) Zillig, Kyle (Elizabeth) Zillig; great grandchildren, Morgan and Mason Kelley, Logan, Tyler and Jameson Stanton, William, Emma, Annalise and Madison Zillig; sister-in-law, Phyllis Suhr; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Sandra Suhr; brother-in-law, Earl Cooksey; nieces and nephews.
