While a young man, he moved with his family to Dallas County, Iowa, where he learned the trade of a farmer. Here he met Edith I. Wright, whom he married on March 14, 1914. There were four children born to bless this marriage, Eleanor (Inman) Aldrich, Wilbur Inman, Richard Inman, and Alice Jean (Inman) Babenhouse.
The Messenger of Death came calling, and Lemuel E. Inman answered the call to the spirit world on June 28, 1931, Madison County, Iowa, at the age of 41 years, 5 months, and 5 days.
Like most of the Ridlen descendants, Lemuel was of medium height and medium built with brown/almost black hair and blue eyes.
