Nancy Kay (Fischer) McCoy passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 after spending the day surrounded by her beloved family at her bedside.

She was born on March 6, 1954 in Lafayette, IN as the 7th child of George Frederick Fischer Jr and Dorothy "Dottie" Clare Duffy. She met her spouse, Phillip Glenn McCoy, in 1972 and they later married on March 23, 1979.

Nancy had a great sense of humor and valuable life quips she'd dole out on a whim. She was charitable to loved ones in need and would take anyone into her home, even when she had little resources to spare. She believed that you didn't need to attend a formal church setting to be a good person and made sure to tell her family that she loved them with all her heart.

She wasn't a fussy lady at all. She liked to go fishing with her husband and boys, enjoyed working on cars, reading her celebrity magazines, collecting elephant figurines (where the trunk had to be up to bring 'good luck') and Santa Claus figurines (especially with the wire rimmed glasses) and most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Nancy held a few positions over the span of her life. She had worked at Comfort Nursing Home and at M&M Motors but worked the longest in the Food & Nutrition Department at Lafayette Home Hospital from 1988 until her health issues brought on early retirement in September 2014.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 42 years; three children; two sisters; two brothers; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father on December 24th, 1972; her mother on November 20th, 1994; her sister Phyllis Ann Fischer Gill on May 6, 1984; and her brother George Frederick "Fred" Fischer III on June 22, 1989.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on November 12, 2021 at Simplicity Funeral Care, 1608 Schuyler Avenue, Lafayette, IN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Her graveside ceremony will follow the funeral service at St. Mary's Cemetery, 2122 Old Romney Road, Lafayette, IN 47909.
