Passed away peacefully at her residence, Nithview Home on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Leona Bender of New Hamburg in her 102nd year.
Beloved wife of the late Mervin L. Bender who predeceased her March 26, 1993. Loving mother of Carol Warren and friend Tom Irvin of Baden, Sandy and husband Robert Seyler of Wellesley and Gary Bender of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Todd, Terry (Jennifer), Kimberley (Al), Kevin (Margarita), Carley (Matt) and by her great grandchildren Taylor, Madison, James, Hayden, Andie, Felix, Linea, Sebastian and Valentina. Survived by her sisters-in-law Emmalien Lichti of New Hamburg, Geneva Lichti and Mildred Lichti both of Tavistock.
Predeceased by her parents John E. and Barbara (Bender) Lichti, son-in-law Bob Warren, brothers Elmon Lichti, Stan and Erma Lichti, Elroy and Loretta Lichti, Lincoln and Maryann Lichti, Mervin Lichti, Ken Lichti and sister Helena in infancy, by brothers and sisters-in-law Verda and Elroy Swartzentruber, Rosetta and Clayton Bender, Ada and Chris Bender, Rufus and Ellen Bender, Ruby and Lyle Weber and Viola and Neil Ropp.
Relatives and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St. New Hamburg on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted from Hillcrest Mennonite Church on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 2:00pm. Interment in East Zorra 19th Line Mennonite Cemetery. Those wish to attend the Church Service must show proof of double vaccination and Identification to enter the church.
