Alfonsa enjoyed her career as a medical secretary for the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, NY. She worked for multiple specialties, the last being orthopaedic surgery. She met famous politicians, celebrities and talented dancers in the performing arts- all patients who demanded the best orthopaedic care in the "City that Never Sleeps".
Her father was a skilled tailor who custom-sewed tuxedos for the opera stars among his other customers. Her family sacrificed for their children to give them opportunities in their new American home. Alfonsa's family contributed to the strength of America as proud immigrants cooking exquisite Italian meals and supporting the value of education for their children.
Alice is preceded in death by her brother, Frank Sisti.
She is survived by her niece and nephew, Ellen Sisti Wade of Louisville; Carl Sisti of Louisville; her great nephew, Brian Wade and great nieces Hannah Gray (Guy) and Samantha Sisti all of Louisville.
Alfonsa moved from New York City in 2013 to Kentucky to be close to her niece and nephew's family. She resided at Brownsboro Park Retirement Community for five years and enjoyed all its special features that gave her the quality of life that she deserved.
She was grateful for her caregivers from Home Instead who showed true affection and care when it was needed. When she required more physical care, Alfonsa moved to Nazareth Home Clifton.
The family will celebrate her life with friends and family in New York City with a private burial in her family gravesite in Calvary Cemetery, New York City, New York.
