Aunt Mary (Mate) raised Mertie Evelyn Holly, dau of her sister, Martha D. Saurman Holly. According to Mertie, Aunt Mate took Grandma Mertie Evelyn Holly Hunt when she was 4 1/2. They moved to Onondaga when she was 5 near Tompkins Center on a 70 A farm. Aunt Mate did not want to take Mertie's little brother, Cecil Ray Holly. Merta's mother and father were separated. The mother was very sick.
The Thayer's graves are in the same Thayer plot as baby Delila Thayer, though I do NOT know whose daughter the baby would be. She might be related, but not a child of Mary and Steven, as they were either dead or old when the child was born.
