John W. Shearer
John William Shearer, 91, husband of the late Annie Myers Shearer, died at 3:35 p.m. yesterday at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Shearer, 33 North Harrison Street.
Mr. Shearer, a retired farmer, formerly lived at Neiman, Codorus Township. He had resided with his son for the past eight years.
Surviving are five children, James M. Shearer, Hanover RD 3; Ezra M. Shearer, Seven Valleys; Harry M. Shearer, with whom he resided; Mrs. Fred J. Glatfelter, Glen Rock RD 2, and Clayton W. Shearer, Brazil, Ind.; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lucinda Kessler, Bair, and a brother, Charles Shearer, Jefferson.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock. Rev. Ralph E. Boyer, pastor of York Gospel Tabernacle, will officiate. Interment will be in Jefferson Cemetery.
